A long day - Una jornada larga

We got up early with a good forecast. But the sailing has been slow because there is very little wind and we don't want to use up our fuel. But the views are spectacular, and there were whales along the way and many penguins of course. We are nearing Deception island, it is the first time we have sailed into the crater of an active volcano. The whole island is covered with ash (in layers over the ice). It is not supposed to be dangerous because it is 50 years since a major eruption. But there is a lot of volcanic activity and we expect to bath in hot water.

Nos levantamos temprano con buen pronostico. Pero la navigación fue muy lento porque no sopló el viento y no queremos usar demasiado combustible. Pero la vista es espectacular, y estaban ballenas por la ruta y muchos pingüinos por supuesto. Acercamos Isla Deception. Estará la primera vez que naveguemos en la caldera de un volcán activo. Toda la isla es cubierta con cenizas (laminado con el hielo.) No hay peligro porque había 50 años desde la ultima eruption grande. Pero hay mucha actividad y esperamos bañarnos en agua caliente.
