Icebergs and snow

Today we sailed south, towards the Antarctic continent. half the time we were able to sail and half we had to use the engine. Using the motor is not so bad because it warms the cabin. That was good because it is cold today and we met big icebergs for the first time on this trip. It was snowing and the decks were white and visibility poor. Luckily we have radar and could see the bergs. We were late arriving at Mikkelsen and the anchorage is very poor, so we expect a restless night.

Hoy navegamos al sur, rumbo el continente. Medio tiempo hace viento bueno y podemos andar con vela, y medio tiempo necesitamos usar motor. El motor no es tan malo porque hace calor en la cabaña. Esta bien porque hoy hace frío y encontramos con témpanos grandes, icebergs, por primera vez. Estaba en el nieve con cubierta blanca y muy malo la visibilidad. Por suerte tenemos radar y podemos ver el hielo. Llegamos tarde por Mikkelson y el fundeadero es malo, esperamos una noche no muy tranquilo.
